HOW CAN YOU HELP TO SAVE THESE SPECIAL "POUNDIES" ?
*Official figures show that in NSW over 60,000 unwanted but healthy dogs and cats are "put to sleep" or destroyed in pounds and shelters every year.
This is a horrifying statistic that can only be blamed on the massive oversupply of animals and something has to be done to stop this trend from continuing.
EVERY DAY, PUPPIES AND KITTENS ARE BORN INTO A WORLD WHERE ONE DAY, THESE CUTE AND CUDDLY "BALLS OF FUR" WILL BECOME PART OF THIS HORRIFYING STATISTIC
Groups such as ours, do play a small part in helping to change the lives for some of these animals but now, everyone needs to band together to try and stop this horrendous spriral from continuing into the future.
Maybe, you don't wish to adopt one of our "poundies" and you may not be in a position to become a foster carer or help us in any other way but THERE ARE SEVERAL WAYS THAT YOU CAN HELP.
Firstly, In the coming months, politicians in NSW will have an opportunity to vote on new Legislation that will play a huge part in helping to stop this overpopulation from continuing into the future.

To find out more about the legislation and what you can do, please visit: http://www.pawsforaction.com and http://www.deathrowpets.net
Secondly, please ensure that you desex your own animals and encourage everyone that you know to do the same. That way, you will not be adding to the problem.
Finally, please spread the word to everyone that you can and they too, will have an opportunity to play a part in helping to change the situation for future generations.

* This figure is derived from statistics provided to Clover Moore MP by Kerry Hicky MP Minister for Local Government (October 2007) and intergrated with statistics provided by the R.S.P.C.A.
